Yesterday’s philosophical BBQ round brought up the evergreen of ridiculous topics: ELVIS.

When I mentioned my favourite stupidity about exponential growth I pointed out that in a few years a substantial amount of the world population should be “Elvisized”. I heard that some time ago, somewhere and didn’t really know any specifics, so I could not provide any details when asked for.

But now is the time to share this:

According to “Weasel” of the ZPG Reporter there were 48 Elvis impersonators when the great King died. I heard somewhere else that there were only three while Elvis was still performing, but I cannot cite a source here. Anyways, Weasel found out in 1977 that considering the growth rate of Elvis impersonators (in 1996 there were 7,238!) by 2012 every fourth person (!) on Earth will be an Elvis impersonator. Now we all know there are plenty of well performing and not-so-well performing Elvis copies around. But considering that 2012 is pretty close and obviously most of us do not have too many Elvises as neighbours there can be only one explanation: The wave of Elvises will take us by surprise and a global conspiracy will be revealed, inevitably leading to world dominanation of people in white suits and outdated haircuts!

Better be prepared and don’t say I haven’t warned you!

News get around quickly nowadays, even before it was on the “official media” rumours about Jackson’s death appeared on platforms like Youtube, Twitter or Facebook (User quote: “Is he really dead?”). Radio and TV stations give the issue already plenty of air time right now, but why not lean back and enjoy a poor quality video of Thriller once again - probably my personal favourite of his iconic songs.

I am telling you, just like Elvis he isn’t dead. It’s just all a big hoax so he can get away with his debts. At least we still got his music! You got to give him that: No matter what you think of him as a person, his music connected generations. I remember my mom reading his autobiography some ten years ago, Jackson classics are still being played in the clubs and practically reamain a must in every Best of 80s/90s area. Heck, even my grandparents that spent most of their life under socialism had a word on Jackson’s fate today!

Eeeeey guys, a classic is back. Wrong, by Depeche Mode got me since I heared it during a home visit over Eastern. Being deprived off any music channels (my current TV horizon has been narrowed to five polish stations, of whom 4 1/2 are rubbish) I just saw the other day the official music video online - and it’s terrific. After a goodbye in the London office, which included loudly played old-school Depeche Mode songs, I say “Hello again!” to one of my favourite 80s bands! Album release is actually today I just noticed…

Wohlwollend ausgedrückt trifft das auf Berlin, ferner auf meine neue Bleibe (ferner auf mich… höhö) zu. “Very working class” hat der Vermieter es genannt, aber nennen wir das Kind beim Namen: Ich wohne in ‘nem Haus, dass aussieht wie die die Produktionshalle eines VEB (a.k.a. “Das Kombinat”).

Ich hab’ das Schmuckstück mal fotografiert. Zu meinem Erstaunen ist mir gestern aufgefallen, dass das eine oder andere Musikvideo hier gedreht wird . Wer also ein paar bewegte Bilder zu “meinem Block” sehen will kann mit Hilfe des Clips raten wo ich grad sitzen könnte ^^. Ich wurde vor einigen Wochen übrigens auf’m Heimweg von so Hosenscheißern mit Eiern beworfen. Gut verstecken konnten die sich, dafür nicht gut zielen! Können die nicht - wenn mal wieder Langeweile ist - stattdessen so komisch tanzen wie im Kaiser Chiefs Video?

Ich denke das gleiche wie so fast jeder morgens: Kaffee, Kippe, kacken, Tagesplanung

Was hat deinen musikalischen „Sinneswandel“ ausgelöst?
Ich denke du spielst da gerade sehr auf meine Hip Hop Wurzeln an (lacht)… Nun das beantwortet die nächste Frage

Wie bist du zur Musik gekommen?
Durch meinen damaligen Nachbarn dem eine eigene Plattenfirma gehört und die ausschließlich elektronische Musik veröffentlicht! Nach und nach wuchs ich halt immer mehr in die Materie rein. Mir gefielen die schnellen Beats. Darüber hinaus war ich ja immer sehr an Musik interessiert und sie war immer schon Teil meines Lebens!

Wem würdest du, mit welcher Begründung, einen Orden verleihen?
Definitiv George W. Bush!!! Begründung: Wer so dumm ist und das selber nicht merkt hat meiner Meinung nach ‘nen Orden verdient

Schwer zu sagen! Mal ‘nen Abend senile Rentner voll labern und mit denen so’n Programm alla Silbereisen durchzuziehen hätte doch auch mal was Fragebogen rockt aber auch!

I kept this song playing over and over again because I’m fascinated by the acoustic version and the lyrics. Because there were no more posts I just put this shit online.
